6. Collective Cafe2024
Foamboard, wood, paint, graphite on paperDesigned for the site of the left bank of Saint Jørgen's Lake in Copenhagen, this cafe’s open floor plan and banquet tables aims to initiate new connections between visitors. The roof is sloped away from the busy street, blocking excess noise to promote a sense of escape into nature. The back facade of the stucture is almost entirely open glass, with ironwork and wood beams for support. The geometry of the beams referrences vernacular Danish architecture from the northern Jutland region. The symmetry of the back facade is mimicked by the interior design and contrasted by the side view into the kitchen.
